Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa will be Closed

            In order to integrate and utilize public resources, after a comprehensive consideration of the condition and usage of the venue, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa, under the auspices of the Department of Public Library Management of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be closed from 1 January 2022 (Saturday). The venue will be taken over by the Municipal Affairs Bureau.

            The Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa, located at Hei Loi Tang Plaza in Rua do Regedor in Taipa, was officially opened in 2005 and was transferred to the Cultural Affairs Bureau by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (henceforth designated as Municipal Affairs Bureau) in 2016. In recent years, the majority of residents in Taipa prefers to use the Taipa Library (located on the basement floor of Taipa Central Park), which provides readers with better reading and space resources. Besides, there are a number of different types of social service centres near the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa, which can provide the public a variety service. After a comprehensive consideration, in order to integrate and utilize public resources, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa will be closed from 1 January 2022.

            Currently, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched 15 public libraries in various districts.
