Special Collection Databases

The Department of Public Library Management of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, as the statutory deposit institution for publications of the Macao Special Administrative Region. In accordance with Decree-Law No. 72/89/M (Legal Deposit Regime), as republished by Law No. 26/2024, the department systematically fulfills its legal responsibilities of collecting, preserving and providing access to Macao publications.

The “Macao Periodical Literature Index Database” has been established based on materials collected under the legal deposit regime. It is designed to facilitate the in-depth organisation and bibliographic control of the Library's holdings of Macao periodicals also, through the provision of efficient indexing and retrieval services, to promote the social utilisation, academic research and permanent preservation of these statutory deposit materials.
