LIBRARY MAGNIFIER

The 11-storey library, situated in the vibrant and prosperous city centre, features reticular glass windows with steel frames, which adds an exceptionally modern touch to the wholebuilding. The library houses a collection of around 1.45 million items including a variety of multimedia materials as well as other items under different themes on each floor. The mostnotable feature is that no partition is built within the library, making the interior an open space with sunlight streaming through the windows to its every corner.

This public library involves nearly USD200 million in building costs without the local residents bearing any of it, thanks to the non-profit organization Seattle Public Library Foundation aiding the establishment of the entire library system. The library is, therefore, dubbed ‘Library for All’ by the local residents.
